I am an accessible, mindfulness-based yoga teacher in Boulder, CO. I took my first yoga class in 2007 while at a hospital for a constant headache, a condition that has persisted for over a decade. There, I finally felt safe and accepting of my own body in addition to regaining a sense of power and control over myself as a whole. This feeling propelled me to begin a consistent practice as well as becoming a certified yoga teacher.
My passionate and light-hearted style of teaching establishes a nurturing and loving space which supports the cultivation of awareness and embodied movement. I purposefully sequence integrated vinyasa flow classes which adhere to the principles of vinyasa krama, moving from simple to complex. This method of sustainable progression empowers and supports students of all levels to cultivate a healthy, cohesive relationship between their minds and bodies. Stemming from years of teaching children and young adults, I encourage students to not take themselves or their yoga practice too seriously. My ultimate goal is to hold a safe, supportive space which brings awareness to the strength and wisdom that already exists inside each and every student. Yoga is an opportunity to explore the unification of body and mind with the ultimate goal of leading a happier and more empowered life.
I teach Gentle Yoga, Integrated Vinyasa™, Mindful Yoga, and Restorative Yin Yoga in Boulder. Through my teaching and writing, I advocate for the inclusion of every person in yoga, especially those living with chronic illness(es) and/or chronic pain.
When I'm not studying or teaching mindfulness, I can be found exploring the trails with my partner and dog, crafting, and soaking up the Colorado sunshine.
